Our Story
Family-owned and operated in El Paso since 2000.
Our Story
From a Church Youth Room to a Thriving Martial Arts Academy
Grandmaster Paul Schroder and his wife Veronica came to El Paso from California in 1999. A year later, El Paso Kung Fu was born with five students meeting in a church youth room. The school outgrew its first 1,800 sq. ft. location within a few years, and today the academy trains students in a 5,000 sq. ft. facility with two training rooms and a dedicated crash floor for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — home to around 275 active students.
“To provide people from all walks of life a path to empower themselves through martial arts training. We intend to inspire people to live more confidently and authentically.”
— El Paso Kung Fu Mission Statement
The team works hard to maintain a non-judgmental environment where anyone can step in and feel seen, challenged, and accepted. It's why families stay for years, with grandfathers, fathers, and grandsons all training together at the academy at the same time.
